Life in the times of Covid

Even though the risk of a pandemic has always been present, it seems Covid 19 took us by surprise.

It is interesting to see how, to a certain extent, people across the globe have gone through the same experience: suffering the loss of loved ones, feeling anxious about the uncertain future, seeing one’s everyday activities restricted due to governmental measures put in place in order to contain the spread of the virus.

In Belgium during the lockdowns, social encounters were heavily restricted and people were only allowed to go out for a limited number of activities: grocery shopping, walking the dog, or go to the doctor.

Due to the implementation of unprecedented social distancing measures, people have also been more isolated and lonely than ever. My hometown was also always so empty as I went on regular walks.
